Frozen Four 2011: Bracket Set, With Michigan Facing North Dakota, Notre Dame Meeting Minn. Duluth

According to Internet Media:   The final two spots in the 2011 Frozen Four were determined on Sunday afternoon and evening, with North Dakota trouncing Denver, 6-1, and Notre Dame topping the University of New Hampshire, 2-1, in a defensive battle.

Denver and No. 1 seed North Dakota were tied, 1-1, at the end of the first period, but the Fighting Sioux scored twice in the second period and three times in the final period to seal the win and advance to the national semifinals.

In Manchester, NH, Note Dame took a 2-0 lead into the third period, but the Wildcats were able to cut their deficit in half midway through the period. However, a solid performance from Fighting Irish goaltender Mike Johnson (38 saves) was good enough to send Notre Dame to the Frozen Four.

As a result, Notre Dame will take on Minnesota Duluth in the first of two national semifinals games at the Xcel Energy Arena in Saint Paul, Minnesota on Thursday April 7th. In the second Frozen Four tilt, North Dakota will play Michigan, also at the Xcel Energy Arena, on April 7th. Times for both games have not been set.
